Our Lifestyle Foundation

From the Desk of Pastor D. Tyler Grimes:

Faith is like a house: it must be built on a strong foundation if it’s going to stand the test and trials of time. Faith’s foundation is the word of God and the “Love of God”. In Galatians 5:6–Faith worketh by love. You can’t build great faith without it. Faith is not one’s religion or denomination, it is a spiritual force that works by love and this truth has a success rate of 100%. It never fails! My wife and I have built our lives and the lifestyle of our church on this definition of faith which is faith is a practical expression of one’s confidence in God and His word. We adopted this definition from Hebrews 11:1 (Amplified Version), which describes faith as the title deed of the things (we) hope for; being the proof of things (we) do not see. Example: Since I have the deed to my automobile, no one can call me or come by and hook my car up and take it to the impound. I can sleep peacefully because I have the title deed. Faith gives you and I all the assurance we will ever need to take what’s ours according to the Word of God.

You must build your title deed on your confidence in God and this work as your title deed to the things in the world. When your life is built on faith the storms will come, life type hurricanes will hit your house, the devil will attack your body or a loved one. He will attack your employment status, he will throw everything including the bathroom mirror at your 20 year marriage. He will even try to destroy your relationship with your children, especially your teenagers. He wants to steal your peace of mind. Don’t allow him into your thinking space. In Luke 6:48 (Amplified Version) “He is like a man which built a house, and dug deep, and laid the foundation on a rock(the word of God) and when a flood arose the stream beat vehemently upon that house and could not shake it for it was founded upon a rock.” You see people of God, or for the one who may desire to accept God as your personal Savior and partner, it’s an absolute necessity that we know God and have confidence in him and his promise (word) so that we can build our house of faith because faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.

In Romans 10:14 “How then should they call on him whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?” Here at Double Portion Spirit Ministries International, my wife and I excitedly and expectantly await your arrival. God has called us to Prince William County for such a time as this to be about the Father’s business. We’re on a mission along with this body of believers to help you become a rising star disciple who will go into the world teaching the Word as well as demonstrating the Word which will call others to take hold of the advantage and benefits of being a fellow citizen of the kingdom of God. Boldly and confidently confessing “God is love and as Jesus is so are we in this world.” We look forward to seeing you and the family real soon! Make sure you come and be a part of the most exciting and empowering worship experience you have ever encountered!

The Kind of Faith That Will Last

From the Desk of Pastor D. Tyler Grimes:

Everyone, no matter your family, background, educational accomplishments, no matter what is your social status or no matter rich or poor, every one of us goes through trials and tribulations whether in the church or not.You may be going through a trial right now, maybe you know someone who is being attacked in their health, their employment, in their housing situation or even in their finances.Believe it or not, these attacks are not random. Some of you may not know why or where the attacks are coming, but I have good news for you today!I have recently completed a series on “The Kind of Faith That Will Last.” I’ve come to let you know you can win against every attack, test or storm that comes your way.Faith is not your religious belief or denomination.Faith is a lifestyle for the believer. It’s the way we live and the way we win at no cost.

A simple, yet profound definition of faith is its practical expression of one’s confidence in God (who is love) and His word (Jesus). The enemy releases these tests and trials against you to not just make you ill for a day or two, but to get you to lay down the Word of God and abandon your belief in His care for you.The bottom line is that many of you don’t know who you really are and how valuable you are to the Kingdom of God or God’s family business. You are on the enemy’s most wanted list. He wants to make life so miserable for you that you give up and quit and commit high treason against God and his ability to receive you. Some of you upon reading this newsletter had just said to yourself, “This is too much pressure for one person to handle.”

You must change your perspective and your words because I John 4:4 (Living Bible) says “dear young friends, you belong to God and have already won your fight with those who are against Christ.”Also in Chapter 5:4 (Message Bible) “The conquering power that brings the world to it’s knees is our faith. The person who wins our over the world’s way is simply the one who believes Jesus is the son of God.” Now if those two scriptures alone don’t motivate your faith to tell the enemy “I always win,” I don’t know what will.

My wife and I have been called to this community, county and statewide to encourage and empower. If we have never been through the trials and storms of this life and experience some downs we couldn’t share with you the victories you can achieve and the success you can manifest in life also.Let me encourage you until we come together at service at The Double.

In II Thessalonians 1:3-6, I want to show you how the Apostle Paul knew how to boast about his congregation and encourage them.Encouragement is the oxygen of the soul everyone needs it and everyone executes better when they have it. Because Paul understood this truth, as well as myself and the whole DPSMI family, in this letter I’m telling you how much we boast and appreciate the ministry for allowing us to use this media to become a blessing to you and your household. We have made a quality decision to be an encouragement to you whenever and as much as you will allow us to.Our ultimate goal is to help you reach your full potential in the Kingdom of God and obtain every promise God has for you and your family. So if these newsletters have been a blessing to you please feel free to come out and fellowship with us and receive your Double Portion love, blessings and encouragement as only you can receive at the place of “Double Sized Portions” of all God’s promises for you.

When Life Hurts, Let God Heal You!

From the Desk of Pastor D. Tyler Grimes:

One of the greatest pains for many people today is the fear of rejection. Rejection is the feeling that you’re the unwanted one, the unloved one or the not accepted one. It’s the feeling that has haunted many of us even from childhood that you will never be good enough. The fear of rejection is rooted in thoughts of inadequacy and insecurity. When a person is unsure about his or her worth as a person or falsely believes negative things about him or herself they will fear people’s rejection based upon his or her own negative self image. Many of us have chosen to live in our past hurts and mistakes. Have you heard the phrase “you can’t drive through life looking in the rear view mirror?” Because the front windshield of your car is bigger than the rear view mirror. It’s the same with God and the church family at DPSMI. God, as well as our church family, want you to learn to focus on what’s going on ahead of you so that you don’t even notice what’s going on behind you ever again. Jeremiah 29:11 says “For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you says the Lord, thoughts and plans of peace and not of evil, to give you hope in your final outcome.”

God Almighty, the creator who declared the Earth is mine and they that dwell therein. He has thoughts and plans for your future and he is more interested in you obtaining your good future than he is about your past hurts, mistakes, and misfortunes.

God the father wants to take you to a higher level, but you must first quit living in your past. QUIT YOUR PAST NOW! How do we live in our past? IN YOUR MIND! Isaiah 43:18, “Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.”II Corinthians 3:18, “But we all, as with unveiled faces, (because we) continued to behold (in the Word of God) as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are constantly, being transformed into His very own image.” Remembering and beholding are both mental processes that take place in your mind. So if Satan can get you thinking about the past hurts and rejections of your past, then you think yourself right out of the will of God.

You must learn to gain focus on The Laws of Priorities and How to stay on Track with your focus of the future God has planned for you by doing the following:

  1. Work on yourself because you are your greatest asset or your worst liability.
  2. Work on your priorities and fight to put and keep first things first which are the important ones.
  3. Work on your strengths and you can reach your full potential if you do.
  4. Lastly, work with your spouse, co-workers, and your church family because no man is an island and you can’t be effective alone.

Godly confidence comes from within and is not based upon external appearance or an abundance of things. The person that lives this way for too long will eventually become so comfortable with the mask he or she wears that he or she might find it difficult to ever regain control with who he or she really is.

The solution to this soul sickness is knowing that God loves you. The man or woman who is rooted in God’s acceptance can accept themselves. You must be confident that God loves us despite your past rejections or hurts and pains. In John 5:14 (Amplified) “And this is the confidence (the assurance, the privilege of boldness) which we have in him, we are sure that if we ask anything make any request according to his will in agreement with his own plan he listens to and hears us.”

The person who begins to see him or herself as God sees them is forgiven despite your past mistakes or hurts, successful regardless of your current circumstance or past failures and complete in Christ alone. As your confidence increases it will become easier to remove the masks of rejection, past hurts, inadequacy and fears of insecurity with God and his word that he promises you in Luke 10:19 “Behold, I give you power (authority) to tread on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy and nothing by any means shall hurt you.” My wife and I along with the congregation of DPSMI pray for you daily. We look forward to personally putting our eyes on you and giving you and your family a real big hug from God and his people.

It’s All in His Hands

From the Desk of Pastor D. Tyler Grimes:

Many of us remember the song that we sang in school and in Sunday school. It’s the song, the familiar song that had much impact on my life now that I, along with my wife, have done a series on it The Hand of God. You should now have remembered He’s got the whole world in His Hands. Many of us still have not received the proper knowledge of how powerful and true that song was then and still is today and forever.

Maybe someone may be saying in his or her mind, well if God has so much power and holds the whole world in His hands then why is this world so messed up. There is unemployment, foreclosures, abortions, bullying in schools, high blood pressure, heart attacks, suicide, premature deaths, etc. Could it be we as a people have no real knowledge or belief that God has the power to handle our everyday problems or could it be that many of us have taken our lives from His Hands and placed it in the hands of the enemy? He’s satan, the deceiver, doubter, unbeliever and the father of lies.

In the life empowering and enriching series name The Hand of God, He has instructed my wife and I to give God’s people the truth of the power and presence in the expression The Hand of God. It has a two-fold meaning: (1) It’s expressed as God’s power in judgment and (2) It’s expressed as God’s power in blessing and favor.

In Exodus 3:20-21, and I will stretch out my hand and smite Egypt with all my wonders which I will do in the midst thereof: and after that he will let you go. (21) And I will give this people (you and I) favor in the sight of Egyptians. Here God is saying that you and I when we allow Him to demonstrate His presence and power on our behalf that by His hand He will take us out of the bondage of your supervisor or owner of the business that is mistreating you. He’ll take care of the people who are trying to hold your back or down. Even the environment that tries to hold you hostage He will take care of that also with His hand.

In Isaiah 49:16 (Amplified Version) Behold I have indelibly imprinted (tattooed a picture of) you on the palm of each of my hands. It is much like you and I have numerous pictures of our kids in our wallets and purses but God has done you and I better He has engraved us in the palm of His hands, now if that isn’t a blessing and favor, you tell me what is? God has given every Christian authority over everything that He has created. Including His hand, He has given us the authority to command His hand to get involved and to intervene in any and every situation that concerns you and me. So I am inviting you and your family to come to the place of the Double Portion of God’s love and Double Team with one another and spread this love and Double Portion power to our communities, counties, cities and states. Let’s let everyone know when we command, commission or assign the hand of God, our lives are blessed and highly favored on our behalf.

God Bless you and see you at service this week.

Success by the way of Meditation

During these great times of stress with the high unemployment rates, many companies downsizing and some going out of business, the divorce rate is at an all-time high and people are facing financial crisis on every side. These are things the world system portrays, but there is a place known as “Goshen” where there is light, love, peace, and prosperity. This place can be demonstrated as well as activated by one of the most profound scriptures in the Bible. Joshua 1:8 – This book of the law shall not depart out of they mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is within therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous and then thou shalt have good success.”

God wants you and I to prosper and have good success. He gives each of us the plan for success. First you and I must learn to meditate on and in His Word more than just once a week and more than your annual visits on Easter Sunday. He wants you and I to meditate on and in His Word continuously – day and night. This brings understanding in being able to see what Father God is saying. As we continue to pray, meditate and study the Word of God we will see God’s Word for what it is worth.

Meditation is to think about, ponder, dwell on and to encourage one’s self. And it has to take place daily. It’s essential for you and I to walk out our God-given destinies. The person who meditates the scriptures concerning their marriage, children, health and state of being will come out of successful from any storm or pressure that life can dish out. You can start meditating ten to twenty minutes a day and build from there.

Psalm 1:3 says “But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night and he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water that brings forth his fruit in his season; his leaf shall not wither and everything he does shall prosper and come to maturity.” In Psalms 1, in its entirety, God gives us the key to a prosperous and successful life. In verse 1 he tells us what will happen to the person who doesn’t take nor seek out godly counsel:
• He or she seeks wrong counsel which results in faulty decisions
• He or she begins to listen to wrong advice
• He or she joins the wrong inner circle of individuals.

But to the wise man or woman, young man or young woman even in school as you meditate on God’s word, as you examine, evaluate, and experience the right counsel in which I have given you, 5 major manifestations will take place in your life. According to Psalm 1:3, when you receive godly counsel from the right godly inner circle, stability will take place, insured nourishment will occur, fruitfulness and productivity will occur, strength and durability will occur and lastly your good success will come.

Visit us at DPSMI to learn more of how you can achieve all that God has in store for you.
